MAJOR FEDERAL TAX DUE DATES 2024
Stay ahead of the game with these important tax dates to mark on your calendar:
JANUARY 31st
- Send out FORM 1099-NEC to recipients and related 1096 to the IRS.
- Deliver FORM 1099-MISC to recipients.
- Hand out FORM W-2s to employees and submit related W-3 to the IRS.
FEBRUARY 29th
- File FORM 1096 (related to other 1099s) to the IRS (for paper filers).
MARCH 15th
- Due date for FORMS 1120s and 1065 (or extensions).
- Employer retirement match due unless business tax return is extended.
APRIL 1st
- File FORM 1096 (related to other 1099s) to the IRS (for e-filers).
APRIL 15th
- FORM 1040 due (or extensions).
- FORM 1120 due (or extensions).
- Submit 1st quarter 2024 estimated tax payments.
- Make 2023 IRA/Roth IRA contributions.
- Make 2023 self-employed retirement contributions (unless tax return extended).
- Contribute to 2023 HSA.
- Contribute to 2023 529 plan (in some states).
JUNE 17th
- Submit 2nd quarter 2024 estimated tax payments.
AUGUST 15th
- Deadline for shareholders and partners to request Schedule K-2/K-3 from the applicable S-Corporation or Partnership.
SEPTEMBER 16th
- Submit 3rd quarter 2024 estimated tax payments.
- FORMS 1120s and 1065 due (if extended).
- 2023 employer retirement match due (if business tax return extended).
OCTOBER 15th
- FORMS 1040 and self-employment retirement contributions due (if extended).
- FORM 1120 due (if extended).
JANUARY 15, 2025
- Submit 4th quarter 2024 estimated tax payments.
